The Algorithm of Love – Free ESL Lesson Plan

Free ESL lesson on love, dating, and algorithms inspired by Amy Webb TEDx talk

Ever wondered if love is about luck, effort, or strategy? This fun lesson, inspired by Amy Webb’s TEDx talk “How I Hacked Online Dating,” lets students explore exactly that – using real-life examples from online dating and the world of algorithms.

Students will:

  • Watch and understand key ideas from a TEDx talk
  • Learn and use new vocabulary about relationships and tech
  • Practice critical thinking by analyzing Amy’s approach
  • Discuss, debate, and reflect on their own strategies for finding love – or achieving any goal

It’s a lively, thought-provoking lesson that gets students talking, thinking, and even planning their “perfect match” algorithm!
